MULTISECTORAL NEEDS ASSESSMENT V:
DEIR EZZOR
(APRIL 2026)
In March 2026, DDD conducted a household-based Multisectoral Needs Assessment (MSNA) across five locations in Deir Ezzor governorate, Al-Mayadin, Deir Ezzor city, Al-Bukamal, Al-Husseiniya, and Hajin, covering urban, rural, and semi-rural areas. The assessment surveyed 200 households and 1,246 household members following major political and security shifts in Northeast Syria.
This needs assessment examines the current humanitarian situation in Deir Ezzor governorate following significant political and security shifts in Northeast Syria.
Overall findings indicate a severe mix of health, economic, and psychosocial vulnerability shaped by prolonged displacement, weakened service infrastructure, and deteriorating purchasing power even for those with livelihoods. Protection risks and unmet needs are multiple and overlapping, disproportionately affecting women, children, and households with caregiving responsibilities.
